CharBar CO. INTRODUCING A SUSHI BAR

HILTON HEAD, SC, January 2020 — CharBar is an American style restaurant that creates a mouth-watering taste of gourmet quality burgers, sandwiches, salads, and now introducing the exciting new feature of sushi. Residents of Hilton Head should prepare themselves for a unique flavor in town. CharBar Co. has announced the opening of a recent addition to their menu, a sushi bar.

The inspiration for Charbar’s sushi menu comes from managing partner and executive chef, Tim Nelson’s worldwide travels, as well as his love of music. The sushi rolls have cleverly named after artists, records, and songs that have inspired him throughout his culinary career. Nelson said, “We are fortunate enough to be in the SERG family and have some other great restaurants that have amazing sushi programs. The parallel leads us to usher in collaborations with SERG’s lead Sushi Chef from Poseidon. She has trained with the very talented team at Poseidon, to now spearheading our program here.”

Additionally, the CharBar kitchen crew worked jointly with the sushi team at Skull Creek Boathouse as well to enhance their sushi preparation techniques. The sushi menu will be just as diverse and exciting as the craft burger menu. The new sushi bar menu is to include the more traditional California Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll while on top, including more creative options as well. New flavors are original as the “Strawberry Fields” roll, composed of Escolar, Strawberry, Jalapeno, Toasted Almonds, and Eel Sauce, the “Coco Cabana” roll made with Coconut Tempura Shrimp, Cucumber, Ahi Tuna, Avocado, and Spicy Mayo.

Every partner involved with CharBar is local to Hilton Head Island. Tim Nelson, Executive Chef and managing partner of CharBar Co., commented, “We live here, so we are continually looking for new and exciting placed to eat, much like everyone else who lives here!” CharBar has the opportunity to arouse your tastebuds and produce a unique experience. “We saw that, on the south end, there weren’t many options for family-friendly sushi. What better way to liven it up than to offer two drastically different concepts all in the same place…” said owner, Tim Nelson. This creative menu is inspired to provide a range of options for you. You can get your favorite burger along with a sushi roll for an appetizer, or start with Charbar Cheese Fries and then select an array of sushi rolls for your main course. The pairing options are limitless. Nelson continued, “Think about it, mom and dad want sushi and sake, but the kids want a great burger and fries…come to CharBar; we have it all!”
