THE TEAM FROM FARM TO WELCOME CELEBRATED SOUTHERN CHEFS FOR A FUNDRAISING OYSTER ROAST TO BENEFIT THE SOUTHERN FOODWAYS ALLIANCE

Bluffton, South Carolina (February 6, 2019) – Chef Brandon Carter and the team from FARM to host an afternoon of food, drink, music, and fundraising. On Sunday, March 3, eight celebrated Southern chefs will join chef Carter along the picturesque May River for an exclusive event to raise money for the Southern Foodways Alliance. SFA documents, studies, and explores the diverse food cultures of the changing American South.

The afternoon’s festivities will begin at 4PM on the grounds of a private home on the May River. Guests will enjoy plentiful roasted oysters from Bluffton Oyster Company, as well as variety of original dishes by chef Carter and the curated line-up of local and regional chefs.

· BJ Dennis, renowned Gullah Geechee chef from Charleston, SC
· Orchid Paulmeier from One Hot Mama’s on Hilton Head Island, SC
· Clayton Rollinson from Lucky Rooster on Hilton Head Island, SC
· Charles Pejeau from Sonesta Resort on Hilton Head Island, SC
· Brian Waters from Saltus River Grill in Beaufort, SC
· David Carrier from Certified Burgers & Beverage on Saint Simons Island, GA
· Kyle Brown from The Fitzroy in Savannah, GA
· Kyle Jacovino, upcoming project in Savannah, GA
· Chris Dickerson from Corner Taco in Jacksonville, FL and Squirrel’s Pizza in Savannah, GA

FARM mixologist Joshua Heaton and guest mixologist Paul Rabe from the American Prohibition Museum in Savannah will craft the evening’s signature cocktails using local spirit favorites Bulrush Gin and Virgil Kaine Whiskey Co.. Guest sommeliers Amir Adane from The Collins Quarter and Jason Restivo from Atlantic, both in Savannah, will join FARM’s sommelier Thaddeus Miller to pour selections from Avant Partir Wines and Aleph Wines. The evening’s beer selection will be from local brewers, River Dog Brewing Company and Service Brewing Company.

The fundraising oyster roast will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019, from 4PM-7PM. Tickets are $100 per person plus tax. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Southern Foodways Alliance. Those wishing to make an additional donation can do so at the event. The event will be held at a private home on the May River; address information will be provided to ticket purchasers prior to the event.
