What are the three most important lessons you have learned building your business?
Never give up; where there’s a will, there’s a way; and never compromise integrity and honesty. By holding true to these goals, I can sleep without worry that I did the best job I could do!

What is a day like in your heels?
Most days start out with a well laid plan. In homebuilding, that goes by the wayside pretty quickly. Therefore, you really have to be on your toes, solve issues quickly, and be very reactionary to what the day may bring.

What have been some make or break moments in your career? Important client meetings, presentations, procurement, pitches, etc.
Homebuilding is a tough business—convincing someone that we are more attentive than the next company. Generally, homebuilders’ reputations are far from stellar. In the beginning, everyone claims they interact the way we do. Therefore, gaining people’s confidence is a tough nut to crack! This is when past clients can be so beneficial, because they’ve experienced first-hand and can attest to the type of attention they received throughout the entire project!

When you first started what was the biggest challenge when it came to cultivating clients/customers?
There are definitely some people you will never make happy. However, when I finish a project I know that I always gave it 110% which gives me peace of mind! I can’t say being a woman is as beneficial as it should be, typically women are very much more detailed oriented. Yet some people feel since this is a male dominated industry that I lack the knowledge. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I have my general contractors license, nearly 10 years of hands-on experience, everything and more than my competitors.

What inspired you to start your business?
I knew that building a house was a very daunting experience and also a large financial investment. Therefore, I felt compelled to show clients that it can be an enjoyable experience, especially if their builder is acting as their advocate. I am very hands-on in all my projects, no matter what it takes. They can rest assured my watchful eye is on their project daily!
