2019 Women in Business: Now We're Talking Therapy Services

Author: Special to CH2

What are the three most important lessons you have learned building your business?
Take time to “wait” before acting or reacting; your team is your biggest asset, so use them; efficiency is key—be thoughtful with your time.

What is a day like in your heels?
Parkers’ sweet tea is a must on the way into the office for referrals and scheduling. We tackle insurance questions, work on billing, and evaluate as well as treat patients through the end of the day!

What have been some make-or-break moments in your career—important client meetings, presentations, procurement, pitches, etc.?
We are still experiencing these moments; the pediatric physicians, early interventionists, and families in this community have contributed to our success up to this point, and we wouldn’t be where we are without them.

On those impossible days, what motivates you to keep going?
The families we serve. At the end of the day this is a business you enter into because you are passionate about working with children and their families. There is no greater reward than seeing the progress the kiddos make!

What inspired you to start your business?
We both acknowledged a need in Beaufort and Jasper Counties for thorough, family-focused, and thoughtful therapy services for the pediatric population.
