Hilton Head Island, SC (September 4, 2012) St. Francis Catholic School is now serving a “Healthy, Wholesome & Nutritious” school lunch program for the 2012/2013 school year, thanks in part to locally based, Celebrations Catering & Events.

Celebrations Catering & Events, utilizing the finest of products available, prepares and delivers daily to St. Francis for its four lunch periods from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. According to Chef Andy Borgmeier with Celebrations, “The lunches are wholesome choices. We use fresh fruits, vegetables and natural grains to maximize the vitamin and mineral nutrients, along with reduced sugar and lean meats that are integrated into foods that most kids already like. Two of the students’ favorite menu items so far are our cauliflower-mashed potatoes (let’s just call them mashed potatoes) and multi-grain Mac & Cheese.” Parents order their children’s school lunches online on the school’s website, with a three week rotation of most menu items. The program is already getting rave reviews from students and parents alike.

St. Francis Catholic School Principal, Brian Pope said, “Our new “Healthy, Wholesome & Nutritious” lunch program is a win-win for the school and our student body of 180 children, age 4 -14. We’re getting a delicious product – made and delivered fresh daily and outstanding, customized service. Celebrations Catering & Events delivers lunch and snack items for our Pre-K and Kindergarteners with already pre-cut portions for them, which is great. We used to have to get volunteers to roam throughout the lunch room, available just to cut-up bite sized pieces for the smaller children. It’s the little things like that are making a huge difference for us – and the fact that staff looks forward to eating lunch from the cafeteria now too says a lot.” Pope credits the school’s Family Student Association (FSA) President, Jackie Brino, Vice-President, Tina Rohr and parent volunteer, Sasha Sweeney with having the idea to get Celebrations Catering & Events to provide the nutritious hot lunches for St. Francis. Chef Andy still includes the occasional cookie or special treat every now and then, but he’s using whole wheat flour and nobody even notices the difference.

Celebrations Catering & Events’ concierge approach to catering and events has entertained families, friends and colleagues for more than 14 years on Hilton Head Island and throughout the Lowcountry. Passion for food is reflected through the culinary talents and the extensive menu selections of Chef Andy’s team. Full-service event planning and parties are expertly managed by Director of Catering, Molly Kennedy. For more information call 843-689-7526 or visit www.wecelebrateyou.com.
