GOURMET COURSES ARE PAIRED WITH THE PERFECT WINES AT THE GREAT CHEFS OF THE SOUTH WINE DINNERS

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (February 14, 2012) – The Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival has set the dates for the 2012 Great Chefs of the South Wine Dinners. A series of wine dinners at some of the Island’s most outstanding restaurants and dining establishments take place the week leading up to the Saturday, March 10th Wine & Food Festival. The Great Chefs of the South Wine Dinners partner great wines and local chefs for a wide variety of scrumptious menu pairings beginning on Monday, March 5 through Friday, March 10, 2012. In addition to the core activities of the festival, many local restaurants have scheduled events at their respective businesses to join in celebrating the Island as a top southeastern culinary destination. Most of the Great Chef of the South restaurants have paired their host chef with a specific winery, and a special menu with accompanying wines designed specifically for each different venue. The dinners will be taking place on Monday, March 5 at Black Marlin; Tuesday, March 6 at Charlie’s L’etoile Verte and Frankie Bones; Wednesday, March 7 at the South Carolina Yacht Club – Wine Cellar, Trattoria Divina and Daniels; Thursday, March 8 at Michael Anthony’s, Old Fort Pub and Red Fish; Friday, March 9 at Harbour Town Grille and CQ’s; two new “After-Party” Dinners scheduled for Saturday, March 10 at Quarterdeck and The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa – Oceans Restaurant. Limited seating availability, with reservations for the Great Chefs of the South wine dinners accepted directly with each establishment.
The Grand Tasting and Silent Auction will be held on Friday, March 9 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Sea Pines Resort, Harbour Town Conference Center. The Wine & Food Festival and Silent Auction will be held from 12 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn.
