The Panic Channel

Author: Maggie Washo

At the risk of sounding totally ridiculous if Hurricane Hanna slams into us on Friday…

I know we have to be prepared. I know we have to be aware. But as I go about my regular business today, I have had about ten people “worry” about making evacution plans this week. Right now the projected path is anywhere from Florida to New York.

Perhaps I am just a weathered Islander, having lived here for 16 Septembers, all of them peppered with the “panic” of Hurricane Warnings. It wears me out.

Can we just not “panic” until we are better informed? I mean, really. I have ALOT of work to do today. I mean, by all means, panic if you want to. But if we should happen to meet today, let’s talk about something else.

Mags

  1. Mags, Mags, Mags,
I agree with you totally. The whole “panic” thing has gotten to be a bit much. But you have to ask yourself, is this the one? Is this the sneak up from the depths of all that is unholy type of storm that will send all of us to our maker before our time? Or just another long trip on crowded highways and byways only to return to our homes longing for attention untouched.
Once again Mags, I know the feeling. Well, I got to get back to work myself… Stay dry;-)
