Santa Claus is coming to the Lowcountry, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to give him your wish list this holiday season! The holidays are upon us and throughout the month of December, you can celebrate the Yuletide with your family and neighbors at numerous community events.

December 1—Bluffton Christmas Parade
Parade begins at 11 a.m. on Bridge Street and winds its way through the historic district. The Marine Corps Band, Bluffton High School Band, seasonal floats, and of course, Santa Claus on a fire truck will all make an appearance.

December 1-24—Pictures with Santa
Santa Claus will be at the Shelter Cove Mall ready to hear wish lists and pose for photos during mall hours. Domestic pets on leashes are welcome. For more information, call 689-3090.

December 1-24—Sea Pines Holiday Workshop
Thursdays through Sundays from 12-2 p.m., The Sea Pines Plantation Club will host holiday workshops, making sandollar ornaments, honeycomb candles, snowflake candle boxes, and other crafts. Prices vary; call 842-1979 for more information.

December 2—Choral Society Tour of Holiday Homes
From 12:00-5:00 p.m., The Holiday Home Tour includes refreshments and entertainment with The Choral Society’s Christmas Ensemble at The Inn at Harbourtown. For ticket information, call 363-2185.

December 7—Holiday Picture Show and Pajama Party
6:30 p.m. at the Mall at Shelter Cove. Dress the kids in jammies and enjoy the showing of a holiday classic with treats and holiday surprises. Cost: a donation for Deep Well or the Humane Association. Call 686-3090.

December 7-8—Choral Society Concert, “The Sounds of Christmas: Illuminaciones”
Family-friendly concert with the full chorus, youth chorus, and orchestra. For tickets and performance times, call 341-3818.

December 8 and December 15—Breakfast with Santa
9:30 a.m. at The SHARE Center, children are welcome to meet and eat pancakes with Santa, sponsored by the Island Rec Center. Call 681-7273 to sign up.

December 15—Living Nativity at Grace Community Church
From 6:30-8:00 p.m. All are welcome. Call 681-6698 for more information.

December 21—Christmas Themed TGIF in Old Town
From 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., walk through the historic streets of Old Town enjoying holiday shopping, entertainment, and music sponsored by the Old Town Merchants Society. Santa will be there.

December 22—Jingle Bell Run
9:00 a.m., a 5K Run and Health Walk sponsored by Bear Foot Sports. Call 379-3440 for more information. Pre-registration is required.

December 22—Christmas Concert with Gregg Russell
7:30-9:30 pm, enjoy the holiday tradition of Gregg Russell performing seasonal classics under the Liberty Oak Tree at Harbourtown.

December 22-24—Caroling Hayrides in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve
Caroling, hot chocolate, and a reading of The Night Before Christmas. Reservations required. Call 842-1979.

Holiday Lights:

Dove Street —5:30-9:30 pm. “A Celebration by The Sea” Self-guided holiday tour of lights and décor of homes on North Forest Beach. Donate canned goods and unwrapped gifts to Deep Well at Coligny from December 9-24.

South Beach —Thousands of twinkling lights and falling snow surround the marina at South Beach. Visits with Santa and holiday treats are also on hand. Call 363-2198 for more information.

Holiday Tour of Lights —All seven local fire stations will be decorated with each station’s décor sponsored by a different local business or civic organization.
