Katie and Russ grew up in Ohio and met in college at Ohio Northern University. Russ majored in accounting, and Katie majored in education. After college, Russ moved to Colorado, but that distance could not keep them apart. In October of 2013, Russ popped the question while they were on a hike on his family farm, overlooking the beautiful town where he grew up.
Hilton Head Island is a very special place to Katie, because her family spent every spring break here. “We went to Easter Mass at Holy Family Church, walked all the beaches and ate at our favorite restaurants every year. So when Russ proposed, I knew that Hilton Head was the ideal place to be married,” Katie said. “We wanted our wedding to feel romantic, relaxing and most of all…fun! And fun it was! We felt so blessed to have 150 of our family and friends join us for our special day. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and is now part of the many great memories we have of Hilton Head Island.”
The ceremony took place at Holy Family Church. Deacon John DeWolfe made the wedding so special with his happy and warm demeanor.
The reception was held at Windows on the Waterway. Tracey Mancini was the wedding coordinator and made sure every detail was perfect.
Katie’s color palette was soft pinks, corals and grey. Henry Kretchmer of The Flower Garden made sure they had plenty of pianese in all the right shades for the wedding party of 20.
The evening came to a close with a memorable view from Windows on the Waterway of a magestic sunset and sailboats.
A romantic moment between the newly married bride and groom, captured away from the party.
The bar was adorned with Katie’s Signature Drink menu as well as a Scotch and cigar bar for all guests at the party.
