Kids Do the Darndest Things on HHI

Author: Pam Freedman

It’s up, up and away on beautiful Hilton Head Island at Aerial Adventure Hilton Head, where families can enjoy a fun, fantastic, flying good time on a playground in the sky, right in the heart of the island. The two-hour thrill of 50 in-the-trees challenge activities, adjacent to ZipLine Hilton Head, has taken ropes courses to new heights. The adventure builds confidence as families leap, fly, swing and climb on six courses (two green, two blue and two black), designed for different abilities—always harnessed, helmeted and attached to the courses’ cables through a state-of-the-art belay/pulley system.

Now, more kool kids’ adventures are being added next to Aerial Adventure HH, including Rascal Ropes and the Adventure Squad kids’ program. Rascal Ropes is a low ropes course for the little ones, ages five-seven, who are under 48-inches tall. Although these ages are allowed to fly on the Aerial Adventure green beginner courses, Rascal Ropes is a starter experience for tikes who aren’t quite ready for the higher heights and more challenging obstacles.

The Adventure Squad kids’ program, landing this summer, is a three-hour unique program, offered Tuesday through Thursday mornings, available to kids ages seven to 16. The Adventure Squad offers an exciting schedule of creative games on the ground and on both Rascal Ropes and Aerial Adventure courses.

The Adventure Squad’s mission is to build confidence, strengthen physical skills and provide an enjoyable social experience. As an appealing option for youngsters in town for vacation or a grandparents’ visit, it’s an awesome way to spend a morning exploring and playing in the trees. Whether a child is alone or with a group, it’s a rewarding good time.

For a group celebrating a birthday or special occasion, Aerial Adventure offers party packages that include lunch next door at the family-friendly Up the Creek Pub & Grill along with other celebratory favors.

The Rascal Ropes’ design reflects the roots of the low ropes industry, which has inspired both zipline canopy tours and high ropes activities. In the five years since ZipLine HH launched its two-hour tour, followed by the Aerial Adventure HH’s two-hour challenge, over 100,000 guests have enjoyed these newer highlights of Hilton Head Island that show off the Lowcountry’s unique beauty and provide an unforgettable thrill.

Aerial Adventure Hilton Head is located at 33 Broad Creek Marina Way, Hilton Head Island. For more information, call (843) 682-6000 and visit ziplinehiltonhead.com.
