Casual Outdoor Living

Author: Special to CH2

Somewhat chilly evenings can be even further enjoyed with the custom built gas fire pit in the backyard.

Simply Southern Homebuilder, LLC was put to the test when building this home for clients from the Northeast. It had to be a perfect blend of some traditions from their hometown, yet embracing the Lowcountry was extremely important. With a perfect setting on Hidden Lake, it was imperative to enhance the view and enjoy comfortable, casual outdoor living. With that said, a masterpiece was created. Owner Lisa Cornelius of SSHB assisted the first-time home building clients every step of the way, from trim detail to all other finishes and selections. The results, a stunning home and elated homeowners!

Top: Not ever forgetting the view of Hidden Lake, the kitchen overlooks the casual family room with an abundance of windows providing the perfect backdrop.

Left to Right:
A 5000-sq.-ft estate canopied amongst Live Oaks and enhanced with North Carolina Fieldstone.

The beautiful backsplash plays a great role as a focal point with real bronze accents, the center one measuring 9 inches in diameter.

A special request for a spacious master bathroom with separate vanities, an extra-large walk-in, walk-out shower, and heated floors was executed graciously with walnut cabinetry and warm beige tile.

Top: A formal living room for large family gatherings was still important to the homeowners; exquisite trim detail and unique lighting further enhanced this setting.

Bottom: The love of cooking by the homeowner was met with this large double island kitchen. Adding a touch of interest is the raised bar and center island, both done in mahogany.
