If searching and pinning on Pinterest has become a full-time occupation, you may be the ultimate bride-to-be. If your to-do list is longer than Santa’s naughty and nice list, you may be the ultimate bride-to-be. If you feel like a UN ambassador negotiating all the advice and expectations surrounding your big day, you may be the ultimate bride-to-be.
SERG Restaurant Group believes that it’s time to step down, step back, step away from the lists, the planning, the pinning, and the pressure, because they are planning the Ultimate Fling before the Ring—a bachelorette party of epic proportions. SERG’s hot new venue, the Rooftop Bar at Poseidon Coastal Cuisine, is playing host to recently engaged brides-to-be on Saturday, September 26 at 8 p.m., for what is slated to be the area’s biggest, best bachelorette party of all time, where the brides-to-be, the grooms-to-be, and anyone interested in joining in on the fun, is invited to attend. Everyone is encouraged to get in the spirit by wearing all white, with that lucky touch of something blue.
If you are the bride-to-be, however, you will have to earn it, as all the newly betrothed bachelorettes will get a little competitive. The SERG Group is inviting the public to post letters to the Rooftop Bar at Poseidon’s Facebook page, detailing why they think the soon-to-be-Mrs. is the most deserving Mrs.-to-be. The Like count for each nominee leading up to the party will help determine the evening’s winner. Bachelorettes and their fiancés will be invited to party and play games that will earn them additional Likes, culminating with one bachelorette winning the ultimate special day, a prize package for herself and her future hubby, provided by Poseidon’s Rooftop Bar and the event sponsors. “We want to invite all of the planning brides to have a giant bachelorette party together. We are putting a little twist on it and involving the local bridal companies,” said Susan Probst, marketing director for SERG.
Gathering for the Ultimate Fling will be event sponsors representing local wedding experts, ready to answer questions and connect with the engaged couples and assist with all facets of planning their day. “The partners will have the opportunity to show off what they can do for these brides,” said SERG director of operations Alan Wolf. The sponsors will even be a part of the festivities, leading some of the games.
Owner and makeup artist Jessica Shefsick of Bride’s Side Beauty, is planning some sponsor-inspired shenanigans: think brides “making-up” their grooms on stage to earn some Likes. Having done makeup professionally for 15 years, she said, “My passion is to do one thing and do it well. My team consists of eight highly skilled makeup artists and hair stylists with over 300 weddings successfully executed. Our business is unique because we offer more than just hair and makeup. We can make a boutonniere if one was forgotten, style and groom the men, pop champagne, clean and organize the prep location, bustle a gown, fix wardrobe malfunctions, run last minute errands—anything needed to make the day run smoother. With our By Your Side packages, not only will the Bride receive a stellar hair and makeup team, touching them up throughout, the beauty team also acts as assistants to help with anything and everything.”
In addition to a post-wedding brunch with mimosa service for 50 guests provided by Poseidon Coastal Cuisine, all the sponsors will be contributing to the Ultimate Fling’s prize package with gifts designed to make a bachelorette’s heart sing. Event partner Arum Spa at Sonesta Resort looks forward to peddling back the pressures of the day. “Arum Spa is the perfect place to unwind and relax with your bridal party or your soon-to-be spouse! The design of Arum provides a beautiful setting for rest and rejuvenation or celebrating. Also, did we mention our signature lavender infused champagne to toast your new beginning? Our award-winning team of professionals will make it easy for you,” says their luxury experience team.
Jennifer Lance, of event partner Heritage Fine Jewelers, is passionate about being a part of the bride and groom’s wedding day, along with their journey as a couple. “Getting to work with people for their engagement ring and wedding bands is such an honor; it’s one of my favorite parts of this industry,” she said. “Those rings are usually the most worn piece of jewelry anyone will ever own, so it’s really important that it suits their personality and lifestyle perfectly. Aside from that, we get to help brides find jewelry to wear on their wedding day and come up with cool ideas for bridesmaid and groomsman gifts so the wedding experience as a whole can be really fun!”
Sponsor Marche de Macarons will be bringing a waterfall of colorful macarons to the Ultimate Fling. “Our passion is to make the absolute best macarons, using the best ingredients. Everything is made from scratch in our kitchen. Working with brides to create the perfect macaron to celebrate their special day is one of our favorite things to do. We are happy to match their color palette and allow them to customize their fillings. We can now print monograms or almost any design directly on our macarons, creating a one of a kind experience. From towers of Macarons to sweet favor boxes, we feel so honored to be part of such a wonderful celebration!!” said co-owner Amy Shippy.
Ultimate Fling before the Ring sponsor BMW Hilton Head will be providing a chauffeured BMW on the winning bachelorette’s wedding day for the couple’s “Just Got Married” ride away. Designer Luciana will be there to share advice about attire for all the festivities and providing a gift card to the winner. Sponsors Coastal Event Rentals/Affairs to Remember are experts at setting the stage for spectacular events, and Pretty Papers is the local source for all things pretty and printed, from invites and thank-you notes to bridesmaid and groomsman gifts.
The Ultimate Fling is shaping up to be epic, and at a venue like Poseidon’s Rooftop Bar, with its Hilton Head Island sunset locale overlooking the Broad Creek, nothing less is expected. Whether hosting guests with a VIP experience, pampering party-goers in their three luxurious, 15-person, white leather booths overlooking the dance floor, event stage, and 13-foot customizable video screen, rocking the night with live music, or their now-legendary dance parties, the Rooftop Bar is finding itself at the epicenter of everything fun on the island.
Poseidon’s executive chef Rob Britton and pastry chef Katie Schoenherr bring their culinary creativity to the party as well, with dinner for two or 250, appetizers and desserts at The Rooftop Bar, or personally-designed menus for special events. “Similar to what we have at our other SERG restaurants, we want the personal connection with the guests. That’s what’s nice. We have a venue that’s completely customizable and a team that’s ready to work with you to get where you want to be. It’s a fantastic experience,” Wolf said.
If you are willing to get a little competitive and share what is shaping up to be the bachelorette party to end all bachelorette parties, you just may be the ultimate bride-to-be.
Everyone’s invited; remember to wear white and a little something blue.
