Eat For A Week...(or more!)

Once past the winter solstice the days start getting longer, but this year the weeks seem to be doing the same.

This year’s Hilton Head Island’s Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Chamber Restaurant Week runs from January 15-22 (that’s 8 days by our count) and designed on purpose so as to include Saturday night on both ends – the way weeks should have been designed in the first place, right?

Modeled after successful similar promotions in major cities around the country, including Atlanta and New York, Chamber Restaurant Week is the perfect time to try a new restaurant, scope out a pricey one, discover one that intrigues you or re-discover one you haven’t been back to for a while.

The concept is fairly simple – the special week dinner (or lunch) menus are determined by the participating restaurants, but most offer multi-course, fixed price selections. These are usually incredible deals, so often reservations are required.

To plan your tour of fine, fancy or low-key lunch or dinners during either or both Restaurant Weeks, the best way is to visit www.hiltonheadisland.org/restaurantweek or www.hiltonheadchamber.org/restaurantweek.

Participation will build as the dates draw closer — more than 50 Hilton Head area restaurants were involved in Restaurant Week last year – and it doesn’t take long before the word spreads. The Chamber reported more than 17,000 visits to the Restaurant Week site in a single month last year. Be sure to check the website often for updates and additions.
